Samsung apology ads as a new technology Trend

Today Samsung organized publications on the US mainstream newspapers like The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Washington Post to apologize to its customers for the problems they experienced with Samsung products recently (Note 7 & Washing machines).

Failure of the Note 7 cost Samsung a lot. The main damage lies not only in the financial aspect which is enormous but in the reputation loss as well. Here is a full text of apologize message of the Samsung CEO Gregory Lee. Gregory Lee, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America:

An important tenet of our mission is to offer best-in-class safety and quality. Recently, we fell short on this promise. For this we are truly sorry.

We will re-examine every aspect of the device, including all hardware, software, manufacturing and the overall battery structure. We will move as quickly as possible, but will take the time needed to get the right answers.

Most importantly, safety remains our top priority. We will listen to you, learn from this and act in a way that allows us to earn back your trust. We are grateful for your ongoing support and again, we are truly sorry.

This apologize message is a good sign for all customers and to the whole industry in general that company understands problems and the main issue is that it looks like management of the company has a strategy to find a reliable way out from this temporary crisis that company experience now. Let’s see how this will affect company’s position on the market and how it will influence on the new company’s products like Galaxy S8 that should be released soon.
